Shivu Suhi’s solo travel
Shivu & Suhi were excited about their (all by themselves) trip to Houston to see their cousin Maya. They missed Flight on Sunday and were rebooked for Monday Jul 19th,2010. Shivu was confident about the trip, so pretended my six yr old Suhi. Shivu spent some of her pocket money at the airport, buying gum for herself and candy for her sissy. She walked ahead of us looking for gate numbers, pulling her pullon along with her little hand bag which has camera, gum and her wallet with all her B’day gift cards. Suhi carried her own crafts bag with some food items. DP took few pictures and girls were ready to board the flight by being first guests. Just before going into the plane Suhi said she was little scared but then kinda forgot in a sec when I assured her that Akka is there with her. With lots of hugs and kisses from Amma and Naanna both were off to plane. We both stayed their till the flight took off and returned back home. They reached Houston little over than an hour of flight, greeted by Maya, Chaitu and Sai.

Technology World
Shivani was playing on laptop at breakfast table. She found something exciting and wanted to show it Suhani, who was in shower upstairs. I warned her that it not advisable to take the laptop to the bathroom along with the charger. (Our old laptop needs continous power supply). She begged me but I said “NO”. She then went and got a digital camera, took a picture of it and took it right to the bath tub.

Me or You - It is same
Suhani was taking her own time to come to the dinner table. By the time she was there, I was almost done. So she guessed, I will leave the table soon. So she quickly made a decision and asked me to feed her, so I will be with her till she finishes. I was already little upset as she was late. I told her I do not have energy to feed her. She replied back ”Amma, You just ate your dinner! Feeding me is just like you eating more food”.
Yes, you have every right to imagine my face with a blank expression.

Secret
Suhani brought home her class picture. We were talking about her friends, their names, their outfits, and little bit about their personalities. And ofcourse later she quizzed me for their names. I asked Suhani who her best friend is. She diplomatically answered saying “All are my friends and I do not have any best friends.” But later she said “This boy in the white shirt is not my friend. And the other boy the other white shirt is my best friend”. I was like “Wow, in both categories, it was boys.” She then with an attitude, answered “the other boy in the other white shirt is not my best friend anymore”. I raised one of my eye-brows and asked “why?”. She replied back with the same attitude “He is keeping secrets from me. So he is not my friend any more”. My thoughts were racing down ”Was I sleeping last ten years? Is Suhani fifteen years old?” Then I got myself back and asked her “What kind of secrets?”. She sighed “Amma, a secret is something others do not know. I do not know what that secret was.”

Dinner table conversations
We usually talk different things at dinner table. Usually it ends up me telling a story and feeding yougurt rice to kids at the end. They used to eat all courses by themselves before. But lately they are so much into these Indian stories, they wantedly eat slow during yougurt rice, so I get fed up and feed them with a story. It works for me too, as I let them talk it is only them talking non-stop. If I tell them the story then the only thing that is done by them is listening while chewing.
Yesterday, Dad after watching Suhani not obeying us all evening, he seriously was talking to me that we need to put Suhani “in order” (ie discpline). Shivani said “You mean on the menu”. Suhani answered “Yes. Put me on the Cheese-dip Menu”. As her favorite food is Mexican.
The other night I fed Suhani too much food. After some time she complained “Looks like my stomach is going to drag my body as I am sooo full”. She kept saying “My stomach is strong my head is weak”.
