Three year planning
Shivani does not like winter after Christmas. The one and only thing she likes in winter is Santa. She loves summer as cannot wait to celebrate her birthday. I only realized that she went ahead and planned her next 3 years birthdays while she was discussing her plans with her friends. Next year, when she turns 6, her birthday is at “Sweet and Sassy”, 7th at ‘Chuck E Cheeses’ and 8th ‘Slumber Party’ at home. She also mentioned to her friends that everyone needs to get their own sleeping bags for slumber party.
BTW, please do let me know if you guys are invited for her party, so I can ‘reinvite’ you again, so I will at least know who are’ll coming.

Nivea Cream Cheese
Unfortunately, both my girls suffered from severe eczema until they were 2 years old. Fortunately, most of it has been gone now, but I make sure they use body lotion at least once day. Both hate moisturizers as they are cold when applied. Everyday I wish, that some company would make some warmers to warm the moisturizers. Shivani always suggests why cannot we microwave lotions. Of course, hatred towards lotions comes second as Kumon takes the first place in that ‘I hate’ list category for Shivani.
This morning when DP fixed Bagels with Philadelphia Cream Cheese for kids, Shivani was asking “Why did Naana want us to eat Nivea?”

Donate
Kids were watching TV and saw the new commercial of Dodge Caravan mini van. Shivani was so impressed with second row swivel seats and third row video. She was asking me to buy that van. I said “Shivani, we already have a mini van. Why do we have to buy one more?. She answered “Oh..well we can always donate the existing one to poor people and get a new one, amma, now can we buy one, please, please”.

Hindi vs Hindu
The other day we were taking bunch of kids to Sunday School. Bunch included from 3yr to 9 yr olds. The 9yr old guy said we are having my brother’s party this weekend. Someone asked whether they were invited and he questioned back “Does my parents know yours?” And he added “We usually give party to either Hindi speaking group or for Telugu speaking folks as we have too many friends. Shivani was worried whether she may not be invited for the party, so she said “I am Hindu, my parents are Hindus, my sister is Hindu and also we speak Telugu at home”.
I and DP could not control our laughter, but at the same time, we didnt even try to explain the difference between Hindi and Hindu instead I pitied on them thinking “Poor ABCDs”.

‘You call me’ - ‘I call you’
Some times I interchange girls names (to be honest, I always do that) like for Shivani I call Suhani and vice versa. They usually correct me saying amma my name is so and so. The other day I called Suhani - ‘Shivani’ and she did not correct me instead she wittyly replied back”Yes! Naanna”.
This morning I said to Suhani (adding Indian slang) ” You are lovely girl, amma”. She said “You are too Akka” and when I turned back she said “you called me amma, I called you akka”.
