Eat, not Drink, when hungry
The other day Suhani was saying that she was hungry and wants to eat some thing, basically she was looking for some junk food. Knowing that dad offered her some milk. Instead of saying ’NO’ she said “Naana, milk- you can only drink , you cannot eat milk, I am hungry, I need something to eat.”

Eating out
Last Sunday night Shivani wanted to go out and eat. I told her that we only eat outside that afternoon as we went to our friend’s daughters, Siri’s 2nd, birthday party. Shivani replied back saying ” That is not eating outside. It is just eating at home with all friends and families. They are all my friends and Indians eating Indian food.”
So, I realized that only eating at restaurant is eating out. I wonder whether eating in an Indian restaurant is considered as eating out.

Spellings
Shivani, Shreya and Suhani were riding in car together and saying to each other they know how to spell different words. Shreya read out a list of words that she can spell out. And Shivani was also trying to make a list. Mean while Suhani said “I know how to spell a word too…OK. it has O and K”
Suhani was playing on computer and lost her game against it. She was very upset that she lost it. So I was preaching all about losing and winning and should not worry about losing. Later that day she was not finishing up her yogurt so I said let’s have a race of who finishes yogurt first. She replied “I do not care about winning or losing, especially losing. So I don’t want to eat my yogurt”.

Pretend
Shivani and Suhani were arguing for playing on laptop, so dad dived in to distract the conversation and asked Shivani to come help him to put cook in rice cooker. Usually she will be very excited to do such things but not quite at that moment. So dad was trying to entice her saying that she can pretend like Mom and MOM can pretend like Shivani. Then she immediately said “OK!Then Amma gets to do Kumon homework”

Shivani Art
Shivani when 3 years old drew a picture of me and of course it was not resembling me. Just to see how she reacts, I softly said that the picture does not look like me. Instead she made me react by replying ”Oh! I forgot to draw pimples on your face in the picture”.
Shivani drew a circle, colored in brown and drew some black spots on it and asked me to guess what it was. I was using my imagination and was trying to guess what it could be. She was saying ‘no’ to all my guesses. When she turned back the paper, I saw that she drew that same exact brown circle with black spots on the other side and I became very curious and said “I give up! Tell me what it is”. Then she replied “Amma! it is Chapathi, it has black spots on both sides”
