Fed up of feeding
I was pushing Suhani to eat her vegetables. After half done she pushed back and said she is full. Just like every one, for junk food she has big stomach but not for what she is eating. I replied back saying that she cannot be full so soon. She replied back saying “Only I can feel my stomach, how do you know whether it is full or not”. Next day she complained about stomach hurting. I said “Oh really! I cannot feel your stomach.” With all her emotion she replied back saying “Because you made me eat more yesterday, it started hurting.”
. One time she also said ” I do not have big stomach like your’s.” These kids find different ways to skip eating food. Once Shivani said “Why can’t healthy food be junk and vice versa?”

Loose Screw
The other day Suhani said “My brain is loose and akka’s is tight”. I was in the middle of something and her comment pulled my attention immediately towards her. I asked her what made her think like that. She said “Lefty Loosy Righty Tighty”, ( I taught them this one for opening the screws, jars etc - Turn left to loosen it and turn right to tighten it), she continued “As I am lefthander my brain is loosy and akka being right hander is tight”.

Sleepover
Suhani was wyning about brining Sumedha for sleepover as it was her Birthday this past week. I was explaining her that she cannot come as her father was here for weekend. She listened to me and started asking me again for sleepover. I raised my voice and said that she cannot come. She raised her voice and said “We can invite Vidyadhar uncle for a sleepover too”

Summer 2009
Usually summer is very busy for us. Yagnam in temple for 5 days, Shivani, Suhani, DP birthdays. Our wedding anniversary and temple anniversary. This summer we had our parents visiting us. We are glad that they could see Suhani’s Graduation and girls birthday parties at schools. Suhani’s Brithday fell on Saturday during yagam on which Telugu’s lunch was sponsored. We were in temple for more than 16 hrs. And she took that as oppurtunity and told almost everyone in the temple that it was her b’day. She had fun cutting the cake in the cultural center. We then had her b’day party celebrations in our back yard with the huge water slide. More than kids all adults had fun sliding on the water slide. Pictures are here. That late night Hari/Shiva and Navya/Bharat visited us from Chicago. The very next day early morning we (26 ppl) started out to HotSprings. Everyone loved the boat ride. We took the boat for 8 hrs and went in 3 groups.
Chaitu, Siva and Hari came for Shivu’s Birthday and Chaitu’s baby shower. We celebrated Shivu’s at Wolfchase mall. Kids enjoyed ”Hannah Montana” movie, Carasoul ride, picking their own good bag gift from Disney store. Unfortunately it was Sunday so they closed the mall at 6pm. Click here for pictures. For July 4th long weekend we went to Chicago and kids stayed back there for almost four weeks. Hari enrolled them for swimming classes under Pasumarthi’s name as they offer for localites. The swim center was nearby so my parents walked them up there everyday. Shiva taught girls how to climb trees and taught Suhi ride her bike with out training wheels.
On Aug 1st I and DP drove to St.Louis. Other part of the family drove from Chicago. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, went to Arch, Six flags and next day we visited the famous St Louis Zoo.
Brought back kids and parents to Memphis. We gave a very nice surprise party to my parents on their 36th anniversary, which was on Sunday Aug 8th. Party pictures are right here.

Family ride
Now that the Johnson park is much nearer to our house. Last Wednesday, girls and dad took their bikes out while me, mom and dad walked. That is the first time me and DP saw Suhani ride her bike all by herself without training wheels. It was very exciting for us though we knew that she learnt but never saw her riding. She drove all the way till the play area and back which is almost 2.5 miles.
The next Saturday early morning, we all 6 went for a walk into woods for about 1.5 miles round trip. It was a fun experience. Kids collected various leaves and twigs.
